The church that meets at
Marietta/Reno is comprised of a group of people who believe that the Bible
is the inspired Word of God
(2 Tim. 3:16-17).
We search the Bible for the things that God requires
(Acts 17:11). As
a result of what the Bible teaches, we believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of
God (Matt. 16:16-17),
have repented of our sins (Luke 13:3),
and have been baptized for the remission of sins
(Acts 2:38).
This is described as the form of doctrine that is obeyed from the heart
(Rom. 6:17).
This obedience to the Gospel is what allows one to have the right to become
a child of God (John 1:12).
Those who obey the gospel are added to the Church (Acts 2:38-47). A name for a person who has obeyed the Gospel is a Christian (Acts 11:26). Therefore, those who have obeyed the Gospel comprise the church and believe they are Christians only. They understand the scriptures to forbid the wearing of any name that would originate with man (1 Cor. 1:10-13). These Christians meet on the Lord's day for study and worship. On the Lord's day, the time is spent in classes studying the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15) in order to prepare for service to God as a Christian. After Bible study, the Church assembles together for a time of worship. Total emphasis is placed on worshiping God in spirit and truth (John 2:24). Would you like to learn more about the Bible? Please come study with us and worship with us. We have Bible studies on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings with classes for age 2 through adult. We have worship services twice on Sunday.
